At CDGI we takecommunity service on priority as it imparts students, a sense of purpose, have positive impact on grades, shapes the direction of a student's life and change the interpretations of the world. Community service helps form empathy, compassion and develop skills like networking, organization, team building and problem solving. We regularly organize village visits, social service activities such as blood donation, health checkup and visit to orphanage. We have tie ups with many social cells and NGOs and regularly take part in their activities.
Students are elected to run the social club once a year. The elected students are responsible for organizing all aspects of event management, charity work, and fundraising. The students learn leadership skills, problem-solving, conflict resolution, planning, budgeting, time management, food preparation in camps and post event cleaning.
Students are able to add their Social Club volunteer work to their CVs and this has helped many students in obtaining employment, awards and scholarships. Volunteering in this way shows them how to be rounded individuals who are capable and willing to do much more than just study.
